The iPad Mini is finally here!

Apple recently launched the iPad Mini, a 7.2mm thick, 308g tablet that might give the Google Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HD a run for their money!

Boasting the slogan “every inch an iPad”, the Mini has the same screen resolution as the iPad 2, meaning the display will be much, much sharper. It’s also incredibly light and fits in the palm of your hand, making it ideal as an E-Book Reader or to watch video footage as your arm won’t be as fatigued.

The iPad Mini isn’t the cheapest of tablets, however, with the 16GB version costing £269, the 32GB version at £349, and the 64GB at £429. Although it’s inexpensive compared to its full-sized counterpart, the Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7 are much cheaper alternatives. (You can read about the Nexus 7 here).

The Wi-Fi-only models go on sale in early November, but pre-orders are now being taken. The 4G/LTE version will be released later on in the month, so watch this space!

Do you want an iPad Mini, or are you tempted by its cheaper competitors? Maybe you don’t want a tablet at all? Let us know in the comments!
